Whilst its pure air and panoramic mountain scenery are visual delights, age-old Indian hospitality, vivid traditions and soldiering qualities are cultural delights. Kanda people are mainly occupied in agricultural farming, tea gardening, horticulture, forestry, handicrafts, jewelry. Their artistic skills in carpet weaving, painting, bamboo craft, carving on gold and silver are notable. But as you go on exploring the place you’ll find that more than 50% of people residing here live below poverty line and lack in basic necessities such as adequate sanitation and shelter.
Living with the locals as a family, knowing their culture and traditions will provide you with immense of pleasurable moments. But what’s makes voluntary tourism vacations in Kanda different and unique is that these pleasurable moments of your life will help in the growth and development of the poor villagers. It is regulated under the newly launched scheme the Guest Uttarakhand Home Stay Scheme (2015) Registration No-02 / Home Stay, Dated -16-12-2015 by the District Tourism Development Officer Bageshwar (Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board) in the village of Sunargawn of Kanda, District- Bageshwar, State- Uttarakhand, India.# We are a Home stay host in the beautiful valley of Kanda,Uttrakhand.

We are a host and help to our community who run micro projects through our volunteers’ funds ,Knowledge, and skills. We would like to reach out to international students, volunteers, social activists, Eco and budget tourists.

You are welcome to stay in Rose Home Stay.. We host volunteers as a tourist according the Government rule.

ROSE Home Stay not only provides the village with a much needed additional source of income but provides visitors with a chance to interact with the community gaining an insight into their way of life one that you will never experience while staying in hotel or backpackers hostel.

They say the heart of India lies in her villages during your stay with us I am sure you will fall in love with her.

During your time at the guest house you can become involved in local farming activities, festivals and hopefully help with fundraising activities. Alternatively visitors who just want to escape the hustle and bustle of the modern world can relaxing read books, walk the main trails of the village while enjoying the beauty that surrounds us.

Those guest who are interested in volunteering we allow you to draw on your own knowledge and skills and with our help create a programme that you feel most passionate about. Knowledge & Cultural Tourism, Wellness Tourism ,Development Education, Eco-Village Rural Tourism and Other Activities--

1. Teaching English, learning Hindi in the local school while also learning the local language with the community.

2. Study & Research Eco Rural Sustainable Tourism, Environment protection, and Eco-development.

3. Fund raising Rural Architecture development and Eco Construction and other projects.

4. Used our amazing back drop for filming projects for their university courses.

5. Helped to market R.O.S.E as a Non Profit NGO that promotes strengthen the quality of life In the local community.

6. Creating marketing campaigns International integrity, Website design, networking, office help, slideshow

7. Organic Farming / Gardening, Composting

8.-Local skill / craft / traditional technology / knowledge / heritage learning/ spiritual enlightenment/rural lifestyle /rural livelihood/yoga/local walk and others.

9. Construction of house, toilets for poor local families, renovating old house and maintaining a path.

10 Installed renewable energy sources ie Solar street lamps and lights in poor village’s homes.

11-Bird watching, Butterflies watching, sightseeing, nature walk, forest walk, village visit, spiritual visit, farm walk.

12- Interaction with the local community.

13- Learn local traditional home cooking.

14-Other activities according the time.

Each volunteer needs to contribute for 2 weeks - Rs.30,000/- 50% for the community Social help project and 50% for home stay lodging. All food is provided.

ALL THE 50% MONEY GOES DIRECTLY TO THE COMMUNITY NOT FOR ADMINISTRATION
